Fun, functional pottery from the hills of Vermont...

          Welcome to Humming Wheel Pottery!!

My studio is located about 20 minutes north of Burlington, Vermont in the small town of Fairfax, nestled in the rolling hills of farm country. I'm honored to be able to do this; wake up in the morning, get my kids ready for the day, ship everyone off, and walk into the studio for a day of making bowls, mugs, vases, and whatever else I feel like doing that day. It's a fantastic way to live, and I try to put a little bit of that joy, amazement, and satisfaction into everything I make.

Speaking of which, you'll find that I mostly make functional stoneware, kiln fired pottery here- I'm working on getting a raku kiln up and running by fall, but we're not banking on it. We run pretty heavy on the mugs (I love mugs), pretty solid on the bowls and vases (I like bowls and vases), and hardly any plates (I hate plates). I like to make objects that cradle and protect the contents, and cheesy as that sounds- I get a great deal of satisfaction from cupping my hands around a mug of coffee or a bowl of soup, and that's what I try to make for others.

So look around! Tell me what you think! And if there's something you'd like that you don't see, please let me know- I'm happy to work on commission, with prices that match regular studio pricing (unless there's TONS of planning- then I might kick it up a little).

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
